The High Pets is a 4 piece Indy/Rock band hailing from Anchorage, AK. The band formed sometime in 2015 and released their first album in 2016. The album is a 7-song opening debut for The Pets “Born In A Cave”. In 2017 the band got a new drummer and the trajectory of the band skyrocketed. The foursome won a battle of the bands which allowed the band the privilege of opening for 90’s superstars BUSH at the famed Alaska Airlines Center.
In early 2019 the band recorded a new album in Portland, OR. The project allowed the band to work with an engineer and producer of acclaim, Justin Phelps. The “Burn Forever” album is a 10-song album of all originals. The band is now promoting the new album and looking towards recording again this spring, and looking forward to several upcoming tours in the Northwest in the coming year.
Ultimately, The High Pets are a high energy all original rock band fueled by the insightful lyrics of lead singer Becky Griffin. Raucous guitar from guitarist Gavin Wells and driving undeniable grooves from bass player Charlie Earnshaw. United; The High Pets forms one of the most creative and unrelenting rock-n-roll bands in the state of Alaska today.
Together, The High Pets stitch their myriad influences into a startlingly cohesive whole. Like the bands that inspire them -- Queens of the Stone Age, Sound Garden, Black Angels -- there's a subtle hookiness to The High Pets, pop riffs and a fun, hummable side that keeps you coming back. But The High Pets aren't just pop rock, and the grit they bring to their live shows shines through in every new song they lay down.
